Pastor Josh Van engen
Senior Pastor
I took up the call to ministry at Christ Community Church on June 25, 2017, and have never looked back. I have a wonderful wife, Anne, and four incredible sons, Justin, Josiah, Isaiah, and Elijah.
I grew up in the small rural community of Inwood, IA. In my younger years, I dreamed of working in a greenhouse and doing floral design like my uncle George. I graduated from Southeast Tech in Sioux Falls, SD with an Associate Degree in horticulture and a certificate in floral design and got a job in Alexandria, MN.
After a couple years, God’s call into pastoral ministry became undeniable. Truthfully, he had been calling me into pastoral ministry for some time, but I had been trying to ignore it. With great reluctance, I left Alexandria, MN and made my way to Sioux Center, IA to attend Dordt College (it wasn’t a university in those days). At Dordt, I earned a B.A. in theology. After that, I attended Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, MI, where I earned a Master of Divinity on May 19, 2012.

Josh Aschenbach
Worship Leader
I’ve been the Worship Leader at Christ Community Church since 2023. I’m married to my best friend, Sam, and we’re blessed with three kids—Hosanna, Eden, and Archie. I attended Kuyper College in Grand Rapids, MI, and later graduated from Crown College in the Twin Cities.
I’ve been involved in leading worship since I first picked up the drums in middle school, and I haven’t stopped since. Over the years, the Lord has only deepened my passion for worship and my belief that music often serves as the “tip of the spear” for transformational encounters with our living God. There’s nothing quite like the kind of surrender that happens when we worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. Walls come down, and lives are changed when the Body of Christ lifts one voice in declaring that God is great and greatly to be praised.
A little more about me: I grew up in the Sheboygan area and have always loved everything that makes this region unique. I’m a big Wisconsin sports fan, and Sam and I watch just about every Brewers game each season. My perfect day is simple: spending time with my family, grilling brats, and playing cards or a board game while watching the game.

Katie Gabrielse
Youth Director
I have been the Youth Director for Christ Community Church since August of 2024. Prior to my position as Youth Director, I was going to school to become an RN and working at the hospital, and I volunteered as a youth leader here. However, in God's perfect timing, I was given the opportunity to become the Youth Director here, and it has been a tremendous blessing. God has given me the desire to see the youth grow in knowledge and understanding of God and His word. My prayer is that I may faithfully point students to Christ and know Him on a personal level.
I was born and raised in Southwest Michigan with my family in a little town called Sawyer. I moved to Wisconsin in 2013, where I began attending Christ Community Church with my parents. My husband Aaron and I were married in July of 2020. We have 3 children, Emersyn, Micah and Rhyden, who keep our lives very active! We also have a family dog named Sven.
As a family, we love to go camping, go on adventures, and do projects around our house. Outside of work, I have a passion for soccer and assist varsity girls' soccer for Sheboygan Christian and Sheboygan Lutheran School. I love being able to connect my love for God and my passion for soccer together while encouraging others through teamwork, faith, and community.
